We all understand that the BLHA is, above all else, a hobby. The BLHA doesn’t like to drop people from the roster and is willing to work with people and their schedules. Crewmen need only inform a member from their chain of command that they will not be in attendance of events. As long as the problem isn’t chronic, the BLHA will always work with people’s schedules. Only two events will count against anyone not in attendance. The winter and summer events are considered the most crucial.
Enlisted:
Enlisted that fail to report for 4 consecutive main events will be considered inactive.
Enlisted that fail to report for 6 consecutive main events will be considered transferred.
Officers:
Officers attendance is crucial. When officers fail to show, their workload is placed on the other officers and enlisted. For that reason, officer requirements for attendance is stricter.
Officers that fail to report for 2 consecutive main events will be considered inactive.
Officers that fail to report for 4 consecutive main events will be considered transferred.
What’s the difference between inactive and transferred?
Inactive:
Once a crewman is put on the inactive list, the clock for longevity awards is reset upon their return. Crewman’s duties are temporarily transferred to other crewmembers but they may retain their position within the crew.
Transferred:
Once a crewman is put on the transferred list, they will be dropped from the roster and will no longer be considered BLHA members. Transferred crewmembers may re-enlist but retain no seniority and may have to restart from the bottom at the captain's discretion. They must re-apply for membership as though they were a new recruit.
TRANSFERRED MEMBERS MAY BE REINSTATED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.
